Concord Housing + Redevelopment Bids Farewell to Violet Rounds

June, 22, 2017 – John Hoyt, Executive Director of Concord Housing + Redevelopment announced the retirement of Violet Rounds from the organization’s Board of Commissioners. Violet began serving on the board during the planning and construction of CH+R’s present offices on Green Street.

Her efforts over the years that followed have had a lasting impact on the organization and the residents of Concord. She played a key role in work at Pitman Place, projects on Rumford Street, Concord Street and South State Street; and Violet helped provide much needed special needs housing at Thompson Square. Other recent initiatives include the extensive renovations at the Kennedy building and the Concord Housing + Redevelopment sponsorship of Learn to Swim programs, in the summer through Concord Parks and Recreation and in the winter at the YMCA. Violet truly was a high performer and her guidance will be missed on the board.

“Violet has helped Concord Housing + Redevelopment continue to improve the lives of the residents we serve throughout the greater Concord area. We give her a big thank you and invite her back to visit whenever she can. There will always be a seat at the table for her.” said Hoyt.
